In this little article, I'll show you a package I have for every major color combination and I'll do an example deck build on Moxfield with screenshots so you can follow along. However, if that proves successful, I might reconstruct the deck to better operate on that gameplan. If you're having trouble building "top-down" (100+ cards then trying to make cuts), instead try one of these base packages and build "bottom-up" (starting with ~50 cards and filling in the rest). I'm trying to decided if I should implement some sort of secondary strategy with more ways to generate mana. The rest of the deck are cards that go well with Dredge, free interaction, or free creatures we can use for Dread Return.Īt this point, my list is still missing 33 cards. The goal at that point is to ]-lock the board while get in the Sun Titan beats. The most versatile reanimation target I can think of is ] considering it gives us a sweet 2-for-1 deal. ![]() ] is a great way to get a wincon into play and plays right into our Dredge strategy. Dredge seemed like a decent place to start since it's one of the fastest, most consistent ways to get through our deck. My goal was to make a deck that has a high number of keepable hands, some sort of play every turn, an overall goal, and a definitive win condition. Most your hands will be fairly keepable, but what are you going to do with a bunch of dorks? There's going to be a lot of sitting and chump blocking till you run out of guys or someone else combos. The issue with the second is that there is no "good" win condition. A lot of games will involve mulliganing to nothing and conceding, or hoping to draw into all your pieces and likely losing before then. The issue with option 1 is that you need a very specific hand to try and win, and if it is disrupted at all (discard, counterspell, removal, etc) you just lose with no recovery options. Or you can play all sorts of 0 mana or alternate cast creatures and play some sort of incremental value game as you very slowly approach critical mass. You can either play super glass cannon and attempt to use on of the ] combos. I think there are two main directions you can take the list. This has been a pet project of mine for a little while. ![]()
